Sanjay Lobo, CEO of OnHand
Sanjay Lobo is the CEO of OnHand, an award-winning global platform that aims to drive greater corporate volunteering and sustainability action.
The platform works with several businesses to empower employees to interact in social and environmental impact through flexible, on-demand volunteering and sustainability actions.
Sanjay is driven to explore how we can utilise technology to craft greater opportunities for groups and enhance social good at scale.
At Sustainability LIVE: Diversity & Inclusion, Sanjay will feature on our ‘Social Impact Panel’ alongside Taylor Amerman, Director of Global Social Impact at CDW, Aliza Ayaz, Senior Consultant at TORI Global and Tanya Morton, Director of Customer Success Engineering at MathWorks.
This panel discussion will uncover how organisations can transform their business and support sustainable growth by aligning diversity goals with social impact.
We recently caught up with Sanjay to find out what inspired him to get involved with our event, what he hopes to achieve through his panel discussion and his predictions for the future of our industry.
What inspired you to get involved with Sustainability LIVE: D&I?
I believe the intersection of social impact and diversity has a unique, transformative power within businesses.
As the founder of OnHand, I’ve seen firsthand how combining corporate social responsibility with inclusive practices can drive tangible, positive change.
This event offers a fantastic opportunity to share insights, learn from industry leaders and explore innovative strategies that can make our businesses not only more responsible but more impactful.
It’s exciting to be part of a conversation where we can reimagine how D&I and social impact can genuinely shape the future.
Provide us with an overview of what you hope to focus on during the ‘Social Impact’ panel.
As part of the Social Impact panel, I’ll be diving into the power of ‘everyday impact’ and how embedding D&I within social good initiatives can fundamentally reshape an organisation’s identity and influence.
I’ll share practical strategies for aligning D&I with social impact, with examples from OnHand’s journey and the lessons we’ve learned.
By focusing on actions that empower employees and create meaningful community impact, I want to show how even small steps can yield big results.
The goal is for everyone to walk away with ideas they can start implementing immediately to create lasting change in both their business and the wider community.
What do you hope to achieve through Sustainability LIVE: Diversity & Inclusion?
My goal at this event is to inspire attendees with practical, achievable ways to bring D&I to life through impactful, sustainable action.
I hope to spark new conversations, build connections and empower organisations to integrate their social and environmental commitments with their D&I goals in a way that feels genuine and attainable.
If each person leaves with even one actionable insight or partnership idea, I’ll consider it a success—because, at the end of the day, it’s about collective progress that we can all be part of.
What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of the sustainability industry over the next decade?
Looking ahead, I see a few trends that will significantly impact the sustainability industry. First, data-driven transparency will become a must, as companies will need to offer real-time reporting on their sustainability and social impact.
Second, the rise of purpose-driven, employee-led initiatives will grow, as people seek meaningful engagement in their work.
Finally, we’ll see stronger, cross-sector partnerships where companies, NGOs and governments collaborate closely to address complex issues like climate justice and inclusive economic growth. The future of sustainability is going to be about working together to drive change that lasts.
