Sustainability LIVE Q&A: Kaleidoscope CEO Sandhya Sabapathy
To enhance long-term resilience in the face of environmental challenges and resource scarcity, we must leverage the relationship between sustainability, procurement and supply chain.
By doing so, we will be able to unlock innovation, track our environmental and social impacts, meet regulatory requirements and enhance our supply chain sustainability.
Co-located with Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE: Sustainability, Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero will be taking place on 5 and 6 March 2025 at the QEII Centre.
Across the two days, you will have the opportunity to form valuable partnerships with peers in both the sustainability and supply chain industries, crafting comprehensive approaches to environmental impact reduction.
Join us next year and discover how you can embark on the route to a carbon-neutral world.

What inspired you to get involved in Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero?
Sustainability is not just a professional interest for me—it’s a vocation. The urgency of achieving net-zero emissions and creating a more equitable, sustainable future drives my life every day.
Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero is a unique platform where diverse voices and impactful ideas converge to address these global challenges. I was particularly inspired by the opportunity to engage with other change-makers and amplify solutions that can help turn climate commitments into action.
Storytelling, collaboration and innovation are powerful tools for change and I’m eager to explore those themes at this event.
What will your keynote focus on?
I’m considering two potential focuses for my session, each addressing critical aspects of sustainability:
-
The Power of Storytelling in Climate Action
This would be a fireside chat with a young, emerging documentarian to explore how storytelling can shift narratives around climate change. Storytelling is an essential tool—it humanises complex challenges, builds empathy and mobilises action by connecting people to the urgency of the climate crisis. We’ll discuss how creative communication can break through apathy and engage diverse audiences in meaningful ways. - Building Multi-Sector Coalitions for Climate Action
Alternatively, my session could focus on stakeholder management and the art of coalition-building. Achieving net-zero goals requires unprecedented collaboration among governments, non-profits and the private sector. I’ll highlight strategies to build trust, align interests and leverage resources across these sectors to drive systemic change.
Both options center on empowering people to take action, whether through inspiration or strategic collaboration.
What do you hope to achieve through Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero?
I hope to spark conversations that inspire practical, scalable solutions to climate challenges. Specifically, I want to:
- Empower Young Voices: By elevating perspectives like those of young storytellers, we can spotlight fresh approaches to engagement and innovation.
- Drive Cross-Sector Collaboration: Encourage partnerships across industries and governments, emphasising how coalition-building is essential to making meaningful progress.
- Challenge Conventional Thinking: Move beyond seeing climate change as a siloed “environmental issue” and position it as a foundational concern for all sectors—education, healthcare, economic growth and beyond.
What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of sustainability over the next decade?
- Mainstreaming Climate in Political Agendas
Climate action must transcend political divisions. It’s not a liberal or partisan agenda—it’s a universal priority that impacts everyone. We need to frame climate change as interconnected with broader issues like public health, economic resilience and education, ensuring it remains relevant and actionable across all governments. - Innovative Financing Models
Financing sustainability will require contributions from every sector, including corporations. As significant emitters, businesses have the resources and influence to drive innovation in decarbonisation technologies, but this must be paired with equitable global investment strategies. - A Just Transition
Greater emphasis must be placed on ensuring a just transition, especially for communities in the Global South. It’s crucial that efforts to decarbonise are inclusive, equitable and prioritise those most affected by climate impacts. - Inclusive Carbon Standards
With the rise of carbon trading and standardisation, we must ensure inclusivity. Mechanisms like carbon markets need to work for all stakeholders, not just the wealthiest nations or corporations, to avoid deepening global inequities. - Balancing Risk and Opportunity
Climate change should be treated as both a risk and an opportunity. While the risks of inaction are severe, there’s immense potential for innovation, economic growth and societal resilience through climate-forward initiatives.
