Kuram Gwakyaa leads and propels the delivery of the sustainability agenda for DWP’s estate as the Head of Sustainability at Mitie Group.

He also works across the board to control key projects and secure the best monitoring, reporting and compliance. 

Mitie continues to showcase its commitment to crafting a greener tomorrow through its Plan Zero Pathway and Greening Government Commitments. 

Kuram is committed to enhancing environmental and social change and has acquired a scope of experience in environmental management, renewable energy, quality management and fire safety as a passionate environmentalist. 

At Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero, Kuram will feature on our ‘Global ESG Strategies’ panel alongside Joe Murphy, Executive Lead of the Ellen Macarthur Foundation, Michael Batstone, Global Climate Strategy Manager at IFS and Olivia Ruggles-Brise, Vice President for Sustainability at BCD Travel. 

This panel discussion will highlight the importance of global ESG strategies in creating a structured framework for organisations to make progress toward their sustainability goals.

Ben Stone, Group Head of Environmental Sustainability at Kier Group

With more than 20 years of experience in the sustainability industry, Ben Stone is now the Group Head of Environmental Sustainability at Kier Group.

He has continuously proven his ability to integrate sustainability into business strategies and is influential in enhancing ESG disclosure and strategy evolution.

Ben supports his local community and construction sector supply chains to tackle the climate emergency through being Chair of the Board of Trustees at Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust and a Board Member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School. 

At Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero, Ben will feature on our ‘Finance & Stakeholder Engagement’ panel alongside Jane Thostrup Jagd, Director of Net Zero Finance at We Mean Business Coalition, Saffron Gilbert-Kaluba, UN Net Zero Capital Fund Ambassador at UN and Toby May, Head of Sustainability Integration at Zurich. 

This panel discussion will showcase how finance and stakeholder engagement are pivotal to sustainability due to the resources, alignment and support they provide to drive impactful initiatives.

Alessandro Spagarino, Climate Impact Advisor & Business Development Manager at Terraformation

Alessandro Spagarino is the Climate Impact Advisor & Business Development Manager at Terraformation. 

Throughout his career, he has developed a scope of experience in climate policy, sustainability economics and development studies. 

He now manages carbon credit, NBS deal origination and project finance transactions at Terreformation.

Before joining the organisation, Alessandro was responsible for global carbon credit transactions and structuring long-term project deals for carbon investors whilst working at the South Pole for three years.
