Marking 25 years, Inverto is driving global procurement transformation with sustainable, data-led strategies that balance cost, risk and climate impact

As global supply chains grow increasingly complex and climate regulations tighten, sustainability is becoming a non-negotiable priority across procurement and logistics.

Leading this transformation is Inverto, a consultancy that has specialised in procurement and supply chain management since its founding in 2000.

Now marking its 25th anniversary in 2025, Inverto has evolved from a challenger brand into a leading global consultancy, trusted by multinational corporations and private equity firms alike.

Inverto’s growth story

Inverto began its journey in Cologne, Germany, with a vision to redefine procurement and create lasting business value.

By 2017, the company joined the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a pivotal moment that accelerated its international expansion and broadened its service portfolio.

In 2024 alone, Inverto opened offices in Chicago, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Zurich, bringing its global footprint to more than 600 experts across 17 offices on three continents.

In 2025, the company unveiled a new brand identity to mark its milestone anniversary.

The rebrand includes a refreshed visual style with bold colours and a stylised “O” representing unity and synergy between Inverto, its clients and BCG.

“The new brand is an invitation to rediscover Inverto,” says Laura McCracken, Global Marketing Director.

“It takes our DNA into the future and represents the promise to continue to provide the best possible support for our customers’ success.”

More than a cosmetic change, the rebrand reflects Inverto’s ambition to deepen its global impact and attract top talent in procurement and sustainability.

Leading with purpose

Under the leadership of CEO Daniel Weise, Inverto has built a reputation for helping clients balance cost, risk, innovation, quality and sustainability in procurement strategies.

“We not only support companies with strategies that create long-term competitive advantages, but also very specifically in their implementation,” says Daniel Weise, CEO of Inverto.

“We find the right balance between cost focus, risk minimisation, innovative ability, quality standards and sustainability for every customer and have been doing so for 25 years.”

Inverto’s strategic vision is complemented by the values championed across the whole company.

"Why are we engaged? Quite simply: Because it's the right thing to do!" explains Jan-Christoph Kischkewitz, Managing Director & People Chair at Inverto.

This people-first, values-led leadership model drives Inverto’s collaborative approach and sets the tone for how the company delivers both commercial and environmental value to clients.

Sustainability in action

Inverto’s commitment to sustainability goes far beyond regulatory compliance.

The firm helps clients identify and prioritise environmental and social issues across their supply chains and embed them into procurement operating models.

Its tailored services include sustainable sourcing, supplier management and sustainability metric reporting based on frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

Inverto also encourages companies to develop credible sustainability roadmaps with clear milestones and timelines in order to excel to net zero.

These often involve partnerships with NGOs, research bodies and universities to drive innovation and co-create solutions.

One standout project involved working with a consumer durables manufacturer to optimise logistics.

By increasing container fill rates, Inverto helped the client cut CO₂ emissions by 400 tonnes – demonstrating that sustainability can go hand in hand with operational efficiency.

The consultancy also supports clients in navigating complex regulations such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and deforestation-related commodity laws.

Inverto’s guidance enables companies to enhance transparency, protect human rights and reduce environmental harm.

“To succeed in complying with the CSDDD, it is essential for companies to train their employees in the requirements of the new regulation,” shares Jean-Pierre Masson, Managing Director at Inverto.

“This is a need expressed by nearly half of the respondents.

“Leaders must also adopt a cross-cutting approach and integrate the duty of vigilance into a corporate program that effectively combines cost control, ESG commitment and increased resilience.

“The CSDDD should be approached as a performance issue rather than a compliance issue.”

Inverto also regularly publishes white papers and best practice guides on sustainable procurement, packaging and material management.

It advocates for supply chain traceability, supplier collaboration and continuous improvement, always grounded in measurable results.

Looking ahead

As Inverto celebrates 25 years of innovation, it remains focused on the future.

Its growth strategy will continue to centre on delivering sustainable, data-driven procurement solutions that balance commercial goals with environmental stewardship.

The company’s integration within the BCG ecosystem ensures that clients benefit from global insights and deep technical expertise.

By advancing end-to-end sustainable supply chain strategies, Inverto is not only shaping the procurement function of tomorrow, it is helping to build a more responsible, transparent and climate-resilient economy.

Inverto’s legacy positions it as a guiding force in procurement’s new era, one where sustainability is no longer a choice but a business imperative.
