HVAC systems are critical in the face of climate change, providing essential climate control, ensuring worker comfort and supporting sensitive manufacturing processes.

Emerging technologies allow these systems to optimise air quality, temperature and humidity, essential for precision manufacturing.

They also help maintain the longevity of sensitive machinery, promoting an environment where innovation thrives.

The 2025 Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHR) Expo in Orlando, from the 10th to the 12th of February, serves as a platform for industry leaders to display their most innovative HVAC systems.

This event, the largest of its kind globally, welcomes more than 1,800 exhibitors and draws more than 50,000 attendees each year.

Johnson Controls

At the Expo, Johnson Controls is a notable participant, demonstrating its cutting-edge solutions that integrate automation, energy efficiency and sophisticated data analytics to elevate building management and sustainability.

Its NSW 8000 sensors represent a significant advancement, optimising HVAC, lighting and ventilation systems to economise energy usage by 30% and facilitate predictive maintenance practices.

With an emphasis on reducing carbon emissions, Johnson Controls also presents AI and IoT-enabled solutions tailored to foster adaptable environments and optimised operations.

It aims to significantly improve occupant comfort and operational efficiency while concurrently bolstering efforts towards net-zero energy buildings.

At Booth 2101, attendees can explore innovations such as cold-climate heat pumps and low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) cooling solutions.

Johnson Controls also celebrates 140 years of its pioneering history and 150 years of the YORK brand, noted for its high-efficiency YORK YMAE Air-to-Water Inverter Scroll Modular Heat Pump — a futuristic HVAC decarbonisation solution pitched towards commercial and institutional settings.

“From state-of-the-art building automation systems to advanced cold-climate heat pumps, attendees will see how these innovations drive performance and efficiency for our customers,” said Lei Schlitz, Vice President of Johnson Controls and President of Johnson Controls Global Products.

“For 140 years, Johnson Controls has met and exceeded the demands of even the most complex environments. Today, our real-world expertise, proven solutions and cutting-edge technology empower our customers to achieve their goals of enhancing operational efficiency, improving occupant comfort and well-being and reducing environmental impact.”

Siemens

Siemens too is making waves at the AHR Expo with its array of pioneering technologies focused on modernising building automation, amplifying energy efficiency and enhancing sustainable practices.

Significant among these introductions is the Siemens Desigo CC, an integrated building management platform that consolidates multiple systems including HVAC, lighting and security.

Additionally, Siemens' advancements in digital twins and predictive analytics help optimise energy use, markedly enhancing building operations’ sustainability.

With a strong focus on smart building technologies, Siemens will share insights on its sophisticated controls for low-carbon systems and IoT-enabled sensors and devices.

These innovations are instrumental in boosting energy efficiency and reducing environmental footprints, encapsulating the imperative to accelerate decarbonisation.

"We are not decarbonising fast enough," says Thomas Kiessling, Chief Technology Officer at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

"We have to ask ourselves, how can we accelerate progress and scale-up our efforts? In my view, we have to do more to harness digital technologies and collaborative innovation to build smarter infrastructure and enhance the capacity of existing systems."

Danfoss

Danfoss stands out with its "Transition Forward" theme at booth #1301, unveiling a vast array of sustainable HVAC and refrigeration solutions.

Innovations such as the award-winning BOCK HGX56 CO2 T compressor, suitable for a range of applications from industrial refrigeration to district heating, highlight its commitment to efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Danfoss also celebrates the 30th anniversary of Danfoss Turbocor, which specializes in oil-free compressor technology, underscoring its longstanding commitment to sustainability.

“Danfoss is set to showcase its cutting-edge innovations in decarbonisation and energy efficiency at the AHR Expo,” said Vikas Anand, vice president of sales for North America at Danfoss Climate Solutions.
