The history of Capgemini

Capgemini was founded in 1967 by Serge Kampf. In the 1970s, Serge was the first to combine technical and organisational consulting with custom proximity, with a view of the future role that IT would play in the business world.

Serge started the company off in a two-room apartment which would later be converted into an office.

By 1975 the company had become an IT leader in Europe, establishing a presence in 21 countries.

Building on his European success, Serge started to go international by 1989 and was seen as one of the world leaders in the IT sector.

Capgemini is now one of the global leaders in digital and cloud services, delivering new business models and agile operations to keep its clients at the forefront of the marketplace.

Capgemini’s role in helping others be sustainable
