DHL's GoGreen Plus: Expanding Low-Emission Logistics

DHL Global Forwarding has unveiled its GoGreen Plus Portfolio, designed to make low-emission logistics more straightforward and accessible for businesses worldwide. As demand grows among customers seeking to decarbonise their supply chains, the company is responding with this comprehensive portfolio offering tailored solutions and fixed-rate pricing to make sustainable logistics available to a broader range of organisations.
The air and ocean freight specialist of DHL Group provides reliable, flexible and efficient logistics support globally, delivering parcels to every country while meeting compliance regulations.
Each day, the company supports more than 167,000 customers in getting their goods to market on time. In total, the company has transported more than 2.1 million tonnes of air freight and more than 3.1 million ocean freight TEUs.
Operating as a partner to its clients, the company listens to their needs and collaborates within its network to deliver high-quality service. The company is also working to help clients reduce emissions while increasing operational efficiency through its GoGreen solutions.
With increasing carbon emissions presenting some of the greatest environmental challenges – driven by rising online shopping and expanding global trade partnerships – logistics companies must deliver sustainable alternatives.
The transport and logistics industry produces nearly 24% of global CO₂ emissions, highlighting the need for a sustainable transformation. Through DHL GoGreen, clients can utilise carbon transparency tools to gain insights into green optimisation and improve supply chain carbon efficiency.
Now, DHL Global Forwarding is launching its GoGreen Plus Portfolio as a new offering of sustainable logistics.
Three products for decarbonisation
The portfolio comprises three decarbonisation products that make low-emission logistics more accessible for customers around the world:
- GoGreen Plus Base – offers a default 10% emissions reduction through book & claim solutions, fixed flat rate and its opt-out model
- GoGreen Plus Premium – delivers 85% emissions reduction through book & claim solutions, priced at lane level
- GoGreen Plus Select – provides tailored decarbonisation solutions with flexible emissions reduction levels for large GoGreen Plus customers, customised to individual supply chains.
The GoGreen Plus Base represents an industry first, delivering a default 10% emissions reduction at a fixed flat rate for all eligible shipments.
This could mean that customers can gain access to verified emission reductions without higher costs.
"You do not need to invest millions to make a difference," explains Kathrin Brost, Vice President Global Head of GoGreen Program at DHL Global Forwarding.
"Any business can start small, with just a few extra Euros per shipment and without additional effort. This is a major step forward toward enabling more sustainable supply chains at scale."
The solution allows customers to make sustainable choices across any markets, shipment types and routes without having to worry about the extra cost. The solutions can also be applied independent of country of origin or destination, meaning that any client can see the benefits of sustainable logistics.
All sustainability, net zero and sustainable supply chain leaders should attend:

Meeting ambitious sustainability targets
The GoGreen Plus Portfolio bases its operations on true value chain decarbonisation, meeting the company's larger sustainability roadmap.
The company aims to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with a short-term goal of using 30% sustainable fuels by 2030. As a result of its own decarbonisation journey, the company is accelerating the availability of low-emission logistics for customers around the world and helping them opt for more sustainable options.
"We are proud to introduce solutions that truly change what customers can expect from emission reduced logistics," adds Amanda Rasmussen, Chief Commercial Officer at DHL Global Forwarding.
Through the 'book & claim' approach, DHL can directly replace fossil fuels with sustainable fuels that are already in the logistic company's network. This also allows for the allocation of environmental benefits to paying customers, even when these fuels are not directly used to transport their shipments.
GoGreen Plus Base, Premium and Select are the next steps in DHL's commitment to helping customers with their decarbonisation journey, particularly as demand for reliable sustainable logistics is on the rise. This portfolio offers transparent and credible solutions, backed by a global network and decades of experience.
