GeSI & Tencent Collaborate to Implement the UN Solution Hub

Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and Tencent have collaborated to implement the United National Digital Platform for Sustainable World, the “UN Solution Hub.”

The United Nations Digital Platform aims to help organisations and individuals reach sustainable goals through the powers of technology such as AI.

The platform collaborates with various organisations that innovate technology for sustainable use, with the purpose of supporting countries to build inclusive, ethical and sustainable digital societies.

What does the collaboration aim to do?

Following the Memorandum of Understanding, Tencent will support digital platforms and climate solutions for the GeSI and UN Solutions Hub. 

The collaboration aims to ensure that platforms operate effectively, allowing solutions to move from concept to real world application. 

Using the platform capabilities the Un Solutions Hub will focus on the urban applications, offering solutions databases, a climate contribution assessment framework and financing tools with the aim to support innovations from concept to deployment.

GeSI says it is confident that the partnership will enhance the platform's impact, accelerating the global energy transition and Sustainable Development Goals.

“This platform will translate real climate needs into scalable solutions by integrating technology, policy, finance, and business models. 

“In its first phase, it will focus on urban applications, providing a solutions database, a climate contribution assessment framework, and financing tools to help innovations move from concept to implementation—advancing the global energy transition and the Sustainable Development Goals.”

What is the platform?

The platform is led by the UNFCCC Global Innovation Hub and executed by GeSI.

The mission of the project is to accelerate global carbon reduction and sustainable development through connecting cities, governments, solution providers and financiers, using data driven scalable solutions.

Luis says: “The UN Digital Platform is not just a technology tool—it is a global hub for collaboration and innovation to tackle the planet’s most urgent challenges.

“It directly connects demand with innovative solutions, helping cities, governments, and enterprises deploy climate technologies that truly deliver on carbon reduction goals.”

The platform’s official launch will be at COP30, by the end of 2026 the platform will aim to support more than 50 cities worldwide.
