How Logitech Designs Computer Technology for Circularity

Logitech's latest report details its efforts in sustainable technology, material circularity and computer education.
Founded in 1981 in Switzerland, Logitech specialises in computer accessories and software. It operates in more than 102 countries worldwide with approximately 7,300 employees.
Logitechâs strategy
In 2026, the company achieved a 49% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions. By 2030, Logitech aims to achieve an 85% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from a 2019 base year.
It also has a target to cut Scope 3 emissions by 50% by 2030, against a 2021 baseline, achieving a 33% reduction by 2026.
Across the fiscal year, Logitech has avoided more than 200,000 tCOâe across its products, supply chain and broader value chain. It has achieved this milestone through the use of low-carbon materials and renewable energy.

âIt means working to deeply understand our impact through lifecycle analyses that provide data and insights for both Logitech and our industry; and then applying these insights at scale to innovate and reduce the environmental impact of our product portfolio. Designing for circularity
Logitechâs Design for Sustainability strategy involves reducing its carbon impact and advancing circularity through attention to detail, innovation and craftsmanship.
As of 2026, 81% of all Logitech products used recycled plastic while 43% of the aluminium used in its products was low-carbon or recycled.
The company designs its products for repairability, refurbishment and recyclability, focusing on extending the longevity of the materials it uses.
It has seen more than 281,000 product units recycled in 2025-26.
Through reducing the weight of its packaging, Logitech has eliminated more than 520 tonnes of material across consumer and customer packaging.
It has also removed 580 tonnes of plastic by transitioning all mice packaging away from a plastic "clamshell" design.
Sènami AklĂŠ, Head of Design for Sustainability at Logitech, says: âBusiness as usual will not be enough to get to the ambitious sustainability goals we have set for ourselves.
âWe need to push the boundaries â in how we design and by exploring new technologies, manufacturing processes and materials.â
Supporting the next generation
Logitech has conducted research which found that 90% of women working in computer science in the US experienced isolation during their studies or career.
To help address this, Logitech partners with organisations globally that reach women at every stage of their career path.
This helps ensure that women have a community, a mentor or a network to support them in their computer science journey.
Elaine Laird, Chief People & Sustainability Officer at Logitech, says: âThrough partnerships with organisations such as Girls Who Code, iWish, Aspire for Her and Switzerlandâs federal technical school, EPFL, weâre actively challenging gender barriers in STEM and working toward equal representation in our industry.â
Since 2020, Logitech's support for Girls Who Code has involved a Summer Immersion Programme, volunteer-led workshops, resume review, speaker panels and networking sessions.
This programme has supported 8,228 students, focusing on helping women onto the pathways into the tech industry.
