The event features eight award categories to recognise excellence in leadership, innovation and impact.

Co-located with The Global Procurement Awards and The Global Supply Chain Awards, it offers a powerful platform to celebrate success stories and inspire the wider industry.

Celebrating sustainability leadership

The Global Sustainability Awards celebrate the companies and executives that are leading the way in sustainable business practices.

It will bring together the organisations, initiatives and individuals making a measurable difference through sustainability.

Entrants can raise their profile among senior decision-makers, investors and sustainability professionals through targeted marketing campaigns and media exposure.

Participation in the awards demonstrates a commitment to responsible business and environmental stewardship, positioning organisations as leaders in sustainable transformation.

The awards are judged by 16 senior sustainability leaders from major global organisations, including representatives from RELX, Google, Schneider Electric, Suntory Beverage & Food and Fifth Third Bank.

Entries for The Global Sustainability Awards 2026 close on 29 June 2026, with final judging and the shortlist announced in July.

About the categories

The Environmental Impact Award honours organisations and initiatives that have delivered measurable improvements to the natural environment.

It recognises projects that reduce emissions, minimise waste, protect biodiversity or restore ecosystems to create meaningful ecological benefits.

It is being judged on: 

  • How has the nominee demonstrated outstanding growth or success over the past year?
  • What key innovations or initiatives have set the nominee apart in the industry?
  • How has it delivered measurable value to customers, partners or stakeholders?
  • What steps has it taken to ensure sustainable and future-ready operations?
2025 Global Sustainability Awards Black Tie Gala

The Nature-Based Solutions Award recognises outstanding projects that harness the power of nature to address environmental and social challenges.

This award celebrates initiatives that restore ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and build resilience through sustainable, nature-led approaches.

It will be judged on: 

  • What were the key objectives and outcomes of the project?
  • What actions or innovations were implemented to achieve transformation?
  • What measurable results or benefits were achieved post-completion?
  • How does this project contribute to the wider ecosystem or industry progress?

Last year’s winners

In 2025, the ESG Programme Award was won by SGS SA, which is a Swiss multinational business specialising in inspection, verification, testing and certification services.

It was recognised for embedding ESG principles at the heart of its corporate strategy.

Through its Sustainability Ambitions 2030 plan, it has cut emissions, expanded renewable energy use, improved gender diversity and advanced supply chain responsibility.

SGS SA’s services enable global clients to meet ESG goals, while community initiatives extend positive social impact worldwide.

The Global Sustainability Awards 2025

The Net Zero Award, Project of the Year Award, and Start-Up Award were presented to ECL, a California-based start-up focused on modular, off-grid data centre solutions.

It won the award for redefining sustainable digital infrastructure.

Its off-grid, hydrogen-powered AI data centre eliminated operational emissions and external water use, using fuel cell by-products for closed loop cooling.

ECL’s model enables customers to decarbonise at scale, influences suppliers and sets a blueprint for zero emissions data centres.
