Sustainability at Baxter

Baxter released its first sustainability report in 1997, showing its efforts to reduce its environmental impact.

It has continued this for almost 30 years, accurately reporting on its emissions and reduction initiatives.

It aims to achieve carbon neutrality for its direct operations by 2040.

As part of this ambition, Baxter aims to reduce its absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030.

Its most recent sustainability report says that 99% of its emissions come from energy use and it is working on energy efficiency in its operations.

The company has completed four on-site solar installations and has installed a biomass fired steam generator at its site in Ahmedabad, India.

It also purchased 5.4 GW of electricity generated from certified renewable sources during 2024.
