What the Top 250 Leaders list ranking covers

The Top 250 Leaders list recognises senior executives who are shaping the direction, scale and real-world impact of artificial intelligence across global organisations. Selection is based on a weighted assessment framework designed to balance leadership responsibility, organisational impact and industry influence.
Key criteria include:

• Seniority & strategic responsibility: This criterion assesses the individual’s level of seniority and their direct responsibility for sustainability strategy and execution. Priority is given to leaders who.
• Organisational scale & market impact: This category evaluates the scale, reach, and competitive strength of the organisation’s sustainability footprint, alongside the leader’s role in shaping it.
• Industry influence & innovation: This criterion considers the individual’s influence beyond their own organisation and their role in shaping the wider ecosystem.
• Governance, responsibility & professional recognition: A lighter weighting is applied to factors that reflect professional credibility and long-term stewardship.

Meet sustainability leaders at Sustainability LIVE events in 2026

Sustainability LIVE will once again unite the world’s foremost sustainability and ESG leaders across events in Europe and the US.

On March 4–5, co-located with our Procurement and Supply Chain LIVE at the QEII Centre, London, Sustainability LIVE: Net Zero 2026 will bring together executives and innovators to explore the critical pathways to achieving net zero. The event will delve into key themes including climate leadership, circular transformation, responsible supply chains and emerging technologies shaping a more sustainable future.

In April, Sustainability LIVE heads to the US for Sustainability LIVE: The US Summit. Taking place at Navy Pier, Chicago, on April 21–22, this two-day conference will convene sustainability pioneers driving decarbonisation, diversity and innovation across industries.

The Leadership Summit at London Climate Action Week takes place on 25 June 2026 and The Leadership Summit at Climate Week NYC on 21 September exclusively unite the sustainability leaders behind the world's most influential sustainability strategies.

On September 8–9, leaders will gather for Sustainability LIVE: The London Summit & Awards, celebrating global excellence in ESG leadership.
