PwC’s Decarbonisation and Sustainable Operations Lead David Linich guides firms to cut emissions, boost value and stay circular amid tariff distractions

Speaking with Sustainability Magazine, David Linich makes it clear that the pressures on businesses today aren’t just mounting, they’re changing shape. From tighter regulations and scarce resources to fast-moving technology, the old models are out of date. What’s needed now is a complete rethink and David is calling on leaders to act with purpose. Sustainability, he argues, must be built into the foundation. 

He’s energised by the possibilities: AI, automation and digital twins are giving companies the tools to see further and act faster. From real-time emissions tracking to smarter supplier collaboration, the tech is ready. That said, David warns that Scope 3 emissions, those sitting outside direct control, are the real test. Companies must map the entire value chain, build accountability across every corner and make sustainability part of the day-to-day.
