Sustainability LIVE Chicago’s first day will take attendees on insightful journeys from how AI can accelerate sustainability to tackling Scope 3 emissions

Sustainability LIVE has touched down in Chicago for a two day event co-located with Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE. 

During both days, attendees are set to hear from experts across sectors on sustainability, ESG and climate technology innovations from world-leading organisations. 

From Scope 3 emissions and circular economy models to ethical sourcing, climate risk, sustainable supply chains and transformative regulation, critical conversations are set to meet real-world action.

What’s taking place on Day 1?

Day 1 of Sustainability LIVE Chicago will be opened by BizClik and Sustainability Magazine CEO Glen White and begin with a Breakfast Briefing on Women in Sustainability. 

Women leading in sustainability on the panel include: 

  • Cara Williams, Global Head of Climate and Sustainability at Mercer
  • Sonja Trierweiler, VP of Community Development at the Global Network for Zero
  • Karina Delacruz, Vice President of Community at CSAA Insurance Group
  • Rosa Chang Claro, Director - Global Black Belt Sustainability at Microsoft

Networking breaks will be spread throughout the day, allowing attendees to build valuable connections.

Two fireside chats follow this briefing, from George Dodd, Associate Director - ESG Business Development Leader at Kyndryl and Jennifer Motles, Chief Sustainability Officer at PMI.

George’s fireside chat will focus on sustainable IT infrastructure for the energy transition and climate risk.

Jennifer is set to explore how sustainability can be a driver for business competitiveness. 

Next up is the CSO Strategy Forum, brought to you by PMI, with leaders including:

  • Jennifer Motles, Chief Sustainability Officer at PMI
  • Chelsea Lamar, Vice President, Global Sustainability at AIT Worldwide Logistics
  • Miguel Sossa-Mardomingo, Vice President - Americas Sustainability at Capgemini
  • Michelle Bachir, Managing Director Sustainability at Arcadis

Rosa Chang Claro, Director - Global Black Belt Sustainability at Microsoft, will take the stage for a keynote exploring the value of sustainability data powered by AI.

Sol Salinas, Executive Vice President - Sustainability at Capgemini is next to the stage with a keynote on becoming net positive. 

Convene Willis Tower is a staple of the Chicago skyline

Fifth Third Bank’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Pratik Raval, will then bring a keynote exploring sustainable communities including energy affordability and access alongside financial resilience. 

AI in Sustainability is next on the agenda, bringing leading voices together to discuss one of the hottest topics in the industry. 

Panellists include:

  • Patti Carroll, WW Climate Tech Solutions Lead at AWS
  • Nina Eisenman, VP, Head of Corporate Sustainability Strategy & Reporting at Nasdaq
  • Emmanuel Guilhamon, Global Sustainability VP at Rockwell Automation
  • Miles Makdisi, Director, Sustainability and Social Impact at Rakuten International
  • Dave Duncan, Head of Sustainability at PTC

Kate Heiny, VP of Sustainability at Booking Holdings, is next to take the stage with a fireside chat focussed on sustainability in travel. 

For those looking to embed sustainability in their supply chains and reduce Scope 3 emissions, a workshop with Martine Hornseth, Consultant at Sedex, will be taking place in the afternoon.

Pedro Pereira, Americas Vice President, Head of Sustainability Solutions Go-To-Market at SAP, will deliver Day 1’s final keynote exploring how AI can transform businesses sustainably. 

Networking drinks will take place at the end of the day, giving attendees the chance to discuss what they learned and make new connections.
