Octopus Energy & Enfuce: Electrifying Fleets in the UK

As the UK accelerates in electrifying its transport system, collaborations are a key step forward in the transition to reach net zero.
Issuer processing powerhouse Enfuce, is teaming up with Octopus Energy’s Electroverse, Europe’s largest EV charging network, to launch the Electroverse Business Payments Card.
The payment card is a next-generation fleet payment solution, designed to simplify expense management for fleets and accelerate the shift to electric mobility for businesses across the UK.
Powering smarter fleet electrification
Octopus Energy’s Electroverse already connects drivers to more than 960,000 charge points across more than 40 countries and 1,100 charging brands.
Now, with Enfuce’s cloud-native architecture, the network is expanding its offering to include the Electroverse Business Payments Card, a unified fleet expense solution.
This open-loop Visa Fleet 2.0 card allows fleet operators to manage EV charging, fuelling and everyday costs such as meals, maintenance and travel, all in one place.
Real-time spend controls, instant transaction monitoring, built-in regulatory compliance and fraud prevention features provide fleets with greater financial transparency and operational control.
“The launch of the Electroverse Business Payments Card is a game-changer for fleet electrification,” says Monika Liikamaa, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Enfuce.
“As the first issuer processor certified for Visa Fleet 2.0 in Europe, Enfuce is uniquely equipped to deliver solutions that meet the complex needs of modern mobility.
“Together with Octopus, we’re helping businesses take control of their fleet spend and accelerate their transition to electric at scale.”
EV adoption challenges
This announcement comes at a critical time, as EVs are expected to dominate UK fleets by 2030 and businesses face growing pressure to decarbonise.
One of the biggest barriers to EV adoption remains the lack of seamless, interoperable payment systems, something this partnership directly addresses.
“For us, this isn’t just about enabling payments, it’s about accelerating meaningful progress in mobility,” explains Denise Johansson, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Enfuce.
“As EV adoption grows, the infrastructure behind it must evolve just as rapidly.
“This partnership with Octopus Energy’s Electroverse showcases how innovative technology and shared vision can come together to solve real challenges for fleets.
“It’s a bold step toward building a cleaner, smarter, and more connected future of transport.”
Scaling sustainability
The partnership also reflects Enfuce’s growing footprint in the UK.
After receiving its Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in 2024 and forming partnerships with key players like allpay Limited, Enfuce is now firmly established as a go-to payments partner for sustainable innovation in mobility and banking.
Together, Enfuce and Octopus are delivering a smart, scalable payments solution that gives fleets real-time control, full financial transparency and the flexibility to manage spend across every aspect of mobility.
“Electroverse started with a simple goal: to take the hassle out of EV charging,” says Matt Davies, Director and Creator of Octopus Energy’s Electroverse.
“Now we’re taking that vision even further – empowering businesses with the tools they need to electrify their fleets with confidence, regardless of where they are in the transition.
“Every solution that brings more EVs onto the road counts, and we’re proud to be building the infrastructure that helps businesses lead the shift to smarter, more sustainable transport.”
Leading the charge on clean energy
The launch builds on Octopus Energy’s strong sustainability credentials.
A pioneer in green energy, the company supplies 100% fossil fuel-free electricity, with a 2023–24 mix of 84.8% renewables and 15.2% nuclear, resulting in zero carbon emissions per kWh – far below the UK average of 171 g/kWh.
It manages a renewable portfolio worth £7bn (US$9bn), to date, directly generates around 20% of the electricity it supplies, and continues to invest in wind, solar, green hydrogen and grid interconnectors.
Its smart tariffs and energy tech innovations helped customers earn more than US$5.4m in 2024 for reducing usage during carbon-heavy grid periods.
The collaboration between Octopus Energy’s Electroverse and Enfuce is a small but essential step towards electrification of the UKs fleet.
