Corporate Knights has ranked Schneider Electric the world’s most sustainable company for the second time, making it the first ever company to win twice

Schneider Electric has once again been named the world's most sustainable corporation by Corporate Knights, becoming the first ever company to secure the top spot twice.

This is not the only time Schneider has been recognised as a global sustainability leader – the company has also been ranked as the most sustainable company in the world by Sustainability Magazine in 2023 and Time magazine and Statista in 2024.

This recognition reaffirms Schneider Electric's position as a global leader in sustainability and underscores its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

“For many years now, sustainability has been at the heart of what Schneider Electric does. For an IMPACT company it's more than just a corporate goal, it's the driving force that shapes our business decisions and inspires our employees," says Olivier Blum, Schneider Electric's Chief Executive Officer. "This second title as the World's Most Sustainable Corporation from Corporate Knights, alongside other key ESG recognitions, is testimony to the valuable, long-term positive impact we have.”

Sustainability at Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has consistently demonstrated its dedication to sustainable practices.

The company's innovative solutions focus on energy efficiency, electrification and decarbonisation, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change. Schneider's approach goes beyond mere compliance, integrating sustainability into every aspect of its business operations and strategy.

The 2025 ranking reflects Schneider Electric's exceptional performance across various sustainability metrics. The company has shown remarkable progress in gender diversity among its executives and board directors, setting an example for corporate governance. Additionally, Schneider Electric has made significant strides in decoupling its energy consumption and carbon emissions from business growth, showcasing the possibility of sustainable expansion.

Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman of Schneider Electric

“The core of our strategy is to build a sustainable business and company,” said Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Schneider Electric’s Chairman in 2021 when Schneider first received the accolade.

“Customers, employees, partners and investors have never been more focused on ESG considerations than they are now. Schneider has long embraced those issues, and we keep raising the bar for ourselves, and for our customers and partners.

“When we introduced our first sustainability barometer in 2005, we were an early adopter of ESG matters. But ESG commitments cannot just be a one-off, and we have reinforced ours every three years.

“All of us – companies, governments, individuals – can contribute to make the world greener and more inclusive. Our new commitments define the next steps of our contribution.”

Inside Corporate Knights’ ranking

Corporate Knights, the organisation behind the Global 100 index, employs a rigorous methodology to evaluate companies worldwide.

The assessment considers a wide range of factors, including resource management, employee relations, supplier sustainability and sustainable revenue generation.

Schneider Electric has been a consistent presence in the Global 100 for 14 consecutive years, with seven appearances in the top 10 and the record-breaking two years at top sport, 2021 and 2025.

The timing of this award is particularly significant as it coincides with the conclusion of Schneider Electric's latest five-year Sustainability Impact programme. This programme, which began in 2021, has been instrumental in driving the company's ESG performance, setting ambitious targets across various sustainability dimensions.

Toby Heaps, Corporate Knights’ CEO

"Schneider Electric's position at the top of the Global 100 index is remarkable. No other company has accomplished this twice," said Toby Heaps, Corporate Knights’ CEO.

"This success stems from Schneider's broad impact that goes beyond its own sustainability efforts.

“Schneider provides the technology to enhance energy efficiency, support decarbonisation and help other companies in their sustainable transitions."
