The collaborative project

The partnership between Birmingham City and Veolia aims to explore opportunities to engage and educate supporters, drive meaningful environmental action and support the long-term regeneration of the area.

The Club is entering a transformative period of development, including putting plans into action for the future Sports Quarter, which is set to be a landmark destination for sport, culture and innovation in the city.

Veolia’s support can help provide a platform for early engagement in the project, making sure that sustainability is embedded from the start.

Birmingham City aims to develop initiatives to embrace environmental responsibility, inspire local communities and deliver lasting benefits for the region.

The partnership is designed to grow in scale and ambition over time, aligning with the Club’s sustainability journey.

Jeremy Dale, CEO of Birmingham City Football Club, says: “We are delighted to welcome Veolia as our Official Sustainability Partner.

“This partnership marks an important step in our journey as we enter a transformative period for the Club and the city.

Sustainability at Birmingham City FC

The new collaboration between the Club and Veolia will build upon existing initiatives, including the Blues Go Green Project, launched by the BCFC Foundation.

This aims to improve sustainability at St Andrew’s at Knighthead Park, as well as supporting and educating the local community to make more sustainable choices.

The project is supported by the National Lottery Community Climate Action Fund and it works to help people better understand how their actions can have a positive impact on the environment and the area around the stadium.

Birmingham City’s initiatives are focusing on collaboration with nearby grassroots clubs, schools, neighbourhoods and volunteers, in order to ground the projects in the community.

This aims to help embed sustainable practices into the running of the club and the surrounding areas.
