Who is Taking Over From Claire Lund at GSK?

After more than 13 years working at GSK, Claire Lund has announced she is stepping down from her role as Vice President, Sustainability.
She is being succeeded by Adele Cheli, who most recently held the position of Head of Nature Action and Partnerships at GSK.
Claire’s legacy at GSK
At GSK, Claire worked across the company’s worldwide operations, medicines, vaccines, R&D and supply chains.
She focused on advancing planetary and human health mitigation, while helping the sector adapt to climate change and nature loss.
During her time at the company, Claire helped GSK achieve A scores from CDP – the highest possible rating – for Climate and Water.
She has more than 25 years of experience in leading transformational strategic change programmes across energy, facilities, capital and renewables.
She previously worked in the UK Government, leading the Energy procurement programmes.
Claire has held the role of VP Sustainability at GSK for more than five years, with eight further years of experience as the company’s Head of Global Sustainability.
During her tenure, the company was able to become the first pharmaceutical company to have nature targets validated by the Science Based Targets Network.
She has also contributed to GSK’s progress in transitioning to low carbon inhalers, as well as embedding eco-design into all of its new products in recent years.
Claire says on LinkedIn: “After an incredible chapter at GSK, I will soon be taking on a new challenge – more on that to come.
“I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together. From embedding sustainability into our medicines and vaccines, to accelerating progress on climate and nature and decoupling growth and environmental impact, this has been a true team effort.
“I’m pleased to be handing the baton to Adele Cheli, who will take on the role of Global VP, Sustainability. She brings deep experience and strong strategic leadership and I know GSK will continue to deliver sustainability progress under her leadership.
“While I’m excited for what’s next for me, I’ll continue to celebrate the impact being made as GSK and the team drive towards a healthier, more sustainable future.”
Who is replacing Claire as VP Sustainability?

Adele joined GSK in 2013 as an Associate for the company’s Future Leaders Graduate Programme.
In this role, she focused mainly on procurement, with work in brand activation and medical communications.
She then moved into Innovation roles at the company, working up to become Innovation Manager in 2017, where she negotiated deals to enhance product and digital health innovation.
