Michelle Basheer, Managing Director (Sustainability Advisory) at Arcadis
In her role as Managing Director (North America), Michelle leads the sustainability advisory services, guiding Arcadis' existing US team as it responds to clients’ sustainability needs.
She has worked in management consulting for more than 20 years, leading multidisciplinary projects and supporting clients across sectors with a particular focus on sustainability disclosure, greenhouse gas measurement, target setting and decarbonisation planning and climate risk analysis.
During the event, Michelle will take part in the CSO Strategy Forum. She will explore the evolving challenges and strategies for embedding sustainability into business operations. Topics will include navigating regulatory frameworks, aligning sustainability with business value, leveraging innovation to accelerate goals and the role of CSOs in leading corporate culture transformation.
David Linich, Principal of Decarbonisation and Sustainable Operations at PwC US
David Linch is a principal at PwC based in Cincinnati. He brings more than 20 years of experience working with companies to realise value from their sustainability programme.
David leads PwC’s decarbonisation and sustainable operations services in the US and he also coordinates the sustainability services for industrial products clients.
He has provided a variety of sustainability consulting services to clients from strategy through operations, supply chain and reporting to help them grow revenue, reduce costs, reduce risks and engage talent more effectively.
His work includes greenhouse gas inventories, decarbonisation programs, life cycle assessments, energy optimisation, carbon product footprinting, sustainable product claims, packaging optimisation, circularity and ESG reporting compliance projects.
Outside of consulting, David spent five years in industry, where he had an opportunity to lead a division and manage a P&L for a consumer and industrial product manufacturer.
David also served on the executive team of a top construction contractor, where he led talent and operational excellence. Previously, David was a partner at another Big Four firm where he led the process intelligence and sustainable supply chain practices, which helped clients operate more efficiently and responsibly.
During the event, David will take part in the Global Decarbonisation Strategies panel. He will explore the most effective approaches for reducing carbon emissions across industries, including renewable energy adoption, carbon capture, sustainable supply chains and policy frameworks.
Matthew Smith-Marino, Director of Sustainability (North America) at DSV
As the Director of North American Sustainability for DSV, Matthew Smith-Marino leads the charge in shaping a more sustainable future for global supply chains.
Matthew oversees strategic initiatives across North America focused on reducing environmental impact, fostering social responsibility and building operational resilience for both DSV and its clients.
Matthew's passion lies in leveraging innovation and cross-functional collaboration to drive meaningful progress in areas such as low-carbon logistics, transparent reporting and guiding clients through their own sustainability journey.
His efforts are instrumental in positioning DSV as a leader in sustainable transportation and logistics, creating long-term value for the business, its customers and the communities it serves.
Albert Douer, Chairman and CEO at UBQ Materials
Albert Douer is Chairman and CEO at UBQ Materials. He leads the company to maximise its impact as a world-changing company with deep industry knowledge and proven expertise in corporate global expansion.
For the first 35 years of his career, Albert worked at the Darnel Group, where he and his father grew a small family business in Colombia into a leader in the construction materials and food packaging industry with operations in over 15 countries.
Albert received his A.B. in Economics at Harvard University and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Wharton School of Business.
During the event, Matthew and Albert will take part in the Future of Corporate Sustainability panel. They will discuss the future of sustainability in business, focusing on emerging trends, innovative strategies, and the increasing role of technology.
