What inspired you to get involved in the event?
The exchange of ideas, examination of progress and actions and driving collective progress is integral to the future of our field, and we can’t do it as individuals working in a vacuum.
I’ve worked across different sectors throughout my career, with a red thread of building and shaping sustainability strategies from early stage to maturity.
One thing that I’ve found along that journey is that global forums, like this one, are an opportunity to create connections that can lead to real impact, at scale and while there are challenges ahead for our field, it is an exciting time to be here.
Provide an overview of what your keynote, panel or fireside chat will focus on.
I’m excited to explore how the travel industry is evolving to meet the growing demand for more sustainable options, despite a lingering say-do gap.
Travel providers are making strides towards becoming more sustainable, but scaling these efforts and meeting traveller demand remains a challenge.
During my fireside chat, I’ll discuss the strategies and tools that are helping travel providers, including hotels and short-term rental owners, transition from ambition to action, from adopting more sustainable operations to increasing transparency around traveler choices.
The role of the traveler in this equation is equally important - how can we empower individuals to make informed, responsible decisions that contribute to a more sustainable future for travel?
Ultimately, this conversation is about collaboration - how the industry, platforms, the public sector and travelers can work together to accelerate meaningful progress.
What do you hope to achieve through the event?
I’m looking forward to exchanging ideas with fellow industry leaders, innovators and changemakers, sharing insights, showcasing best practices and collaborating on solutions that can help us build momentum.
What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of sustainability over the next decade?
Everywhere you look, innovation is moving faster than ever, and I know that will benefit the sustainability field in the coming decade.
From sustainable aviation fuels to more accurate and innovative uses of data, technology is accelerating our ability to find, test and deploy solutions to myriad challenges across industries. The future will be shaped by how well we can scale innovation.
