Meet Paolo Taticchi

Paolo Taticchi is a Professor of Strategy and Sustainability and Deputy Director at UCL School of Management, where he co-directs the UCL Centre for Sustainable Business. A global expert in sustainability and strategy, he has trained thousands of Fortune 500 executives, taught at top business schools such as Imperial College London and developed business projects across five continents.

His widely cited research includes more than 50 publications and books such as How to Be Sustainable (2025) and Disruption (2023). In 2025, his research on impact investing was highly commended by the Financial Times for making a real difference. A sought-after speaker and advisor, he has delivered 250+ talks attended by more than 100,000 people and serves on several international advisory boards.

As an entrepreneur, he co-founded four companies and led major educational initiatives. His accolades include Poets & Quants “Top 40 Under 40 Business Professors in the World” (2018), being mentioned by Sole 24 Ore as the most influential Italian under 40 (2021-23), and inclusion in the Thinkers50 Radar List (2025).

What inspired you to get involved in the event?

As someone who has dedicated much of my academic, consulting and public speaking career to sustainable business transformation, I see events like Sustainability LIVE as a critical platform for connection and inspiration. 

I’m particularly drawn to the event’s global reach and its focus on actionable insights, which aligns perfectly with my mission of empowering leaders and organisations to turn sustainability from aspiration into action.

What will your keynote will focus on?

My contribution will explore how companies can make sustainability a true driver of innovation and competitive advantage. 

I’ll share insights from my latest book – How to Be Sustainable – and real-world examples of transformation across industries.

The talk will address how purpose, strategy and performance intersect and why bold leadership is now essential to building future-ready businesses.

What do you hope to achieve through the event?

As Director of the UCL Centre for Sustainable Business, I always look for opportunities to build synergies with industry and co-develop impactful projects. 

I hope to spark meaningful conversations that encourage leaders to think beyond compliance and embrace sustainability as a core business strategy.

I’m also looking forward to learning from fellow speakers and connecting with participants who are driving impact across different sectors.

What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of sustainability over the next decade?

Several trends stand out:

  • The integration of AI and digital technologies to accelerate sustainability efforts
  • Increasing pressure for transparency and accountability in supply chains
  • A shift toward purpose-driven leadership and long-term value creation
  • The rise of Chief Sustainability Officers as strategic change-makers within organisations
  • Organisations moving beyond compliance as they understand the strategic value of sustainable transformation.
