The supply chain, a critical driver of economic activity, is also one of the largest contributors to global greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, research shows that up to 80% of a companies emissions can stem from its value chain&mdash;far beyond its own operations.

To make meaningful impact on climate change, it is essential that businesses take bold steps to decarbonise their supply chain. At DP World UK, we operate two of the largest deep-sea ports, London Gateway and Southampton where we have already invested &pound;2bn in infrastructure to enhance trade flows and support our transition to lower carbon. More recent sustainability initiatives include the construction of a fully electrified berth 4 and the launch of a Modal Shift Programme Trial to financially incentivise a transition from road activity to rail.
