Florence Bulte discusses the Chalhoub Group's Sustainability strategy

Beginning the event, Florence Bulte, Chief Sustainability Officer at Chalhoub Group, took to our virtual stage to deliver a fascinating keynote discussion that explored the company’s sustainability strategy and the actions they are taking to create a greener future. 

The keynote outlined the company’s sustainability journey since 2009 and delved into its core sustainability strategy, which revolves around three key pillars: people, planet and partners. 

Florence’s keynote highlighted the importance of sustainability in the work of the Chalhoub Group by drawing attention to how the organisation integrates sustainable practices into all elements of its work, follows strict governance standards and crafts further partnerships and initiatives to enhance its work.

Schneider Electric: Our Sustainability Strategy

Capucine Dourdin Jeunet on Sustainability Strategy at Sustainability LIVE Dubai 2024

Capucine Dourdin Jeunet, Associate Principal for MEA at Schneider Electric Sustainability Business (formerly Director of Sustainability Business Division for MEA), adopted the same message in her keynote discussion as she explored the company’s sustainability strategy.

During the discussion, Capucine highlighted how Schneider Electric has become a trailblazer in the sustainability industry and strives to keep pace with the need at which change in the sustainability industry needs to take place by implementing several goals, such as its Zero Carbon Project.

Capucine’s keynote focused on the importance of collaboration with partners and suppliers when it comes to the road to net zero. By exploring Schneider Electric’s sustainability strategies, she highlights how the company continues to ensure that sustainability lies at the heart of its work. Capucine emphasises how we can reach net zero emissions if we collaborate with the correct players in the industry and display the right vision.

Ayla Bajwa discussed DP World's data- driven approach and global strategy to sustainability

Ayla Bajwa, Group Senior Vice President of Sustainability at DP World, delivered a keynote discussion that explored the evolution of sustainability.

Throughout the discussion, Ayla stressed the importance of ensuring that sustainability is now an integral part of every business, rather than a CSR activity. 

Ayla covered DP World’s “Our World, Our Future” strategy, the company’s net-zero ambitions and how it is tailoring its work to adapt to local challenges across the world.

Her keynote highlighted her passion for sustainability and emphasised the need for other organisations to adopt the same forward-thinking and data-driven approach DP World utilises.

The Supply Chain Sustainability Forum at Sustainability LIVE Dubai 2024

Featuring Raji Hatter, Chief Sustainability Officer at Aramex, Dina Epifanova, Global Head of Sustainability at IFFCO Group and Samir Pathak, RSZA Head of Sustainability at Red Sea Global, this panel discussion explored how organisations can integrate sustainability into its supply chain by leveraging technology and collaboration. 

The use of technology emerged as a prominent point of discussion during the panel, with all of the speakers explaining how it can be utilised as a transformative method to enhance supply chain sustainability.

During the discussion, the speakers emphasised how businesses need to integrate sustainability into every aspect of its supply chain. All of the speakers agreed that sustainability is now a business imperative that needs commitment and collaboration from all players involved to craft a better tomorrow.

The Sustainability Strategies Forum at Sustainability LIVE Dubai 2024

During our virtual event, Lina Osman, Managing Director and Head of Sustainable Finance for Africa, Middle East, Europe and the Americas at Standard Chartered, Amr Kandil, Business Development Directo of International Operations at Schneider Electric and Seneca Cottom, Head of Sustainability at Alshaya Group, delved into the sustainability strategies that can impact the future of the sustainability industry. 

The panel highlighted how a collaborative approach, where organisations combine financial innovation with technological advancements, can result in greater progress towards vital sustainability goals. 

With regional challenges continuing to develop, it has never been more important than now to continue to build partnerships, harness data and develop region-specific solutions that match global sustainability standards to craft a greener future.

All of the speakers agreed that greater change can be achieved by working together and thinking creatively in the future.

The Role of Natural Gas in the Energy Transition Journey

SLG's Shepherd Nkosi on Natural Gas at Sustainability LIVE Dubai 2024

Shepherd Nkosi, Group Executive Business Development head at SLG, delivered an engaging keynote discussion that explored the importance of natural gas in the energy transition of South Africa. 

Throughout the keynote, he delved into the issues surrounding energy South Africa faces, primarily around the aging of coal plants and its dependency on gas imports from Mozambique. As a result of this, Shepherd highlighted how natural gas can be utilised to craft a bridge to a sustainable future.

However, Shepherd emphasised the importance of ensuring that the energy transition is socially responsible and sustains future generations. He outlines how natural gas can be utilised in South Africa to craft a greener future with greater change that introduced improvement.

Regenisense's Alexander Haw on Sustainable Supply Chains at Sustainability LIVE Dubai 2024

Alexander Haw, Director of Regenisense Consulting, delivered a captivating keynote discussion that explored the key strategies for improving supply chain sustainability across industries. 

Throughout the discussion, he outlined the abundance of benefits sustainability can unlock in organisations, including long-term commercial viability and a greater understanding of the industry. Yet, Alexander explained how many organisations are still afraid to begin incorporating sustainability. 

Alexander’s keynote outlined how organisations can tackle the complexity of integrating sustainability in supply chains by being open to innovation, engaging with the correct strategies and methodologies and adopting a driven mindset.
