Decarbonisation, Nature & Climate Discussions at LCAW 2026

As London Climate Action Week (LCAW) returns from 20 to 28 June 2026, global sustainability leaders, policymakers and business executives are coming together to accelerate climate action and advance progress towards net zero.
At the centre of these discussions is Sustainability LIVE @ LCAW – The Leadership Summit, in association with Philip Morris International, a one-day event taking place on 25 June at CodeNode London.
Bringing together more than 250 senior sustainability professionals, 25 expert speakers and four executive workshops, the summit will provide practical insights, strategic guidance and valuable networking opportunities for organisations navigating an increasingly complex sustainability landscape.
Sustainability LIVE @ LCAW – The Leadership Summit
Making its official debut in 2026, Sustainability LIVE @ LCAW – The Leadership Summit is designed specifically for senior sustainability executives seeking actionable strategies to accelerate climate progress.
The event will bring together leaders from across industries to discuss the most important topics shaping the sustainability agenda, including climate action, decarbonisation, nature-based solutions, sustainable supply chains, AI and ESG governance.
Through expert-led panels, executive workshops and high-level networking opportunities, attendees will gain practical insights into embedding sustainability across operations, supply chains and investment decisions.
As organisations face increasing pressure to deliver measurable climate outcomes while navigating regulatory change and technological transformation, the Leadership Summit aims to provide the knowledge, connections and solutions needed to turn sustainability ambition into action.
The Global Climate Debate
The Global Climate Debate will examine one of the defining challenges of the 21st century: the transition to a low-carbon economy.
As governments and businesses work towards net zero commitments, organisations must navigate an increasingly complex landscape shaped by evolving regulations, stakeholder expectations, technological innovation and regional differences in climate policy.
One of the headline sessions at Sustainability LIVE is The Global Climate Debate, which will explore the challenges and opportunities facing organisations as climate action gains momentum worldwide.
The panel brings together an impressive lineup of sustainability leaders, including:
- Roel van Poppel, Chief Sustainability Officer at Ofi
- Ben Shields, Executive Director for Advisory at SLR Consulting
- Jim Andrew, Chief Sustainability Officer at PepsiCo
- Renée Morin, Chief Sustainability Officer at eBay.
Together, they will examine how businesses can respond to evolving regulations, stakeholder expectations and regional differences in climate policy while continuing to drive meaningful environmental progress.
The discussion will highlight the importance of adaptability, collaboration and strategic leadership as organisations work to balance ambitious climate commitments with operational realities in an increasingly dynamic global landscape.
Global Decarbonisation Strategies
While many organisations have committed to reducing emissions, global decarbonisation rates remain below the levels required to stay aligned with the 1.5°C pathway.
The Global Decarbonisation Strategies panel will address this challenge by exploring how companies can reduce emissions at scale while maintaining business resilience and growth.
The panel will focus on one of the most pressing challenges facing business today: reducing emissions at the scale and speed required to meet global climate goals.
The session will feature:
- Nicole Sautter, Senior Director of Global Sustainability at American Express Global Business Travel
- Jessica Hyman, Chief Sustainability Officer at Atlassian
- Garrett Quinn, Group Head of Sustainability, Branding and Communications at Smurfit Westrock.
Drawing on expertise from the travel, technology and manufacturing sectors, the panellists will explore how organisations are addressing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, implementing science-based targets and developing credible net-zero roadmaps.
Discussions will cover practical approaches to decarbonisation, including sustainable aviation fuel adoption, renewable energy procurement, circular business models and responsible supply chain management, demonstrating how sustainability can be integrated into long-term business growth and resilience.
Nature-based solutions
Nature-based solutions are gaining momentum as a critical lever for both climate mitigation and adaptation, with the United Nations Environment Programme estimating that such projects could mitigate up to 10 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to around 27% of current global emissions.
The Nature-Based Solutions Summit, held in association with Shell, will explore how organisations can prioritise nature and biodiversity within both their direct operations and supply chains.
Nature-based solutions are increasingly recognised as a critical component of the global climate response, offering significant opportunities for carbon sequestration, biodiversity restoration and ecosystem protection.
The Nature-Based Solutions Summit, held in association with Shell, will examine how businesses can integrate these approaches into their sustainability strategies.
The session will feature:
- Janneke Abels, Vice President of Nature-Based Solutions at Shell
- Derrick Emsley, CEO & Co-Founder of veritree
- Henning Huenteler, Partner, EMEA Carbon Markets Lead, Bain & Co.
The summit will also explore scalable projects and collaborative approaches that create measurable environmental benefits while supporting local communities and enhancing biodiversity, reinforcing the growing importance of nature as a strategic pillar of corporate sustainability.
