He was one of the opening speakers at the Blue Impact Summit – Electric Adriatic, held ahead of the final practice day of the 2026 E1 Series.

Kyle said: “This is the second race I’ve attended and it’s an honour to be here.

“All of us here today are trying to build a platform. Something powerful happens when you bring people together. I’m very proud to be a part of what E1 is doing.”

E1 founder’s vision

The event also featured one of the two men who founded E1 – Alejandro Agag.

Alejandro is Chairman of the E1 Series, the world's first all-electric raceboat championship. He launched the competition alongside Rodi Basso with the goal of pushing sustainable marine mobility technologies forward and promoting global ocean conservation.

He told the Summit: “E1 Series is a vision that is being pushed by Dubrovnik in Croatia and by many other host cities.

“We believe sport can play a major role in confronting the many challenges that we face. When we are too general, it’s difficult to take specific actions. Blue Impact is very specific.”

Alejandro is one of sport’s leading sustainability pioneers. He previously founded Formula E and explained how the model is being applied to E1.

“We take collective action through sport. We did it through Formula E by improving the technology and providing a platform to test new software.”

A new generation of e-boats

Alejandro added: “We also raised the awareness and image of Formula E and have now had over 150 races.

“But something needed to be done on the water. First, to improve the level of electric mobility technology on the water.

“We are going to develop a new generation of boats that will be faster and more efficient, using less energy.”

Working with Dubrovnik and Croatia

One key feature of the E1 Series is how the governing body and the teams – including Tom Brady’s Team Brady, Will Smith’s Angola Westbrook Racing and Steve Aoki’s Aoki Racing Team – work with the communities where they race.

E1 works closely with Dubrovnik and Croatia’s tourism and environmental protection organisations, promoting initiatives that tie in with the Respect the City initiative.

Speaking at the Summit, Ina Raguz, Deputy Head of Dubrovnik’s Department for Urban Planning, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection, explained how the city has accelerated sustainable tourism.

Dubrovnik’s popularity exploded in recent years as millions of tourists wanted to see the old city – location of many scenes from Game of Thrones.

Ina said: “Through our Respect the City initiative, Dubrovnik has become one of Europe’s recognised examples of responsible and sustainable tourism.

“Our experience has shown that sustainability is not an obstacle to development, but rather a co-requirement.”
