Driving the energy transition
EcoEngineers, an LRQA company, is a consulting, auditing and advisory firm with an exclusive focus on the energy transition.
From innovation to impact, EcoEngineers helps its clients navigate the disruption caused by carbon emissions and climate change.
EcoEngineers helps organisations stay informed, measure emissions, make investment decisions, maintain compliance and manage data through the lens of carbon accounting.
EcoEngineers was established in 2009 to steer low-carbon fuel producers through the complexities of emerging energy regulations in the United States. Today, EcoEngineers’ global team is shaping the response to climate change by advising businesses across the energy transition.
Here we speak to Laura about EcoEngineers’ sponsorship of Sustainability LIVE London 2025 ahead of the event.
Please could you start by introducing yourself and your role?
I’m Laura Roberts, Vice President of Brand and Marketing at EcoEngineers, recently acquired by leading global assurance partner LRQA.
I lead our global marketing and communications team, working closely with our engineers, scientists and policy experts to translate their technical knowledge into actionable insights for the marketplace.
My focus is on elevating the critical work our team does – supporting decarbonisation through advisory, auditing and verification services – and helping our clients share their stories of innovation, impact and progress to inform and inspire others across the industry.
What about the event was the deciding factor for sponsoring?
Sustainability LIVE London is one of the most dynamic forums for showcasing innovative climate solutions and connecting with sustainability leaders across sectors.
Sponsoring this event felt like a natural fit due to the high calibre of attendees and because the platform aligns with our mission: to accelerate the energy transition by bringing visibility to proven strategies and scalable technologies.
It also gives us a unique opportunity to support our clients and partners in telling their stories and sharing what’s working on the ground.
What do you hope to discuss during the event as part of your panel and workshop?
During the event, we’ll be leading a panel and a workshop, both addressing the most pressing and complex challenges in sustainability today: how companies can navigate sustainability standards across regulated and voluntary carbon markets while pursuing emissions reductions and circularity goals.
Our sessions will explore the intersection of carbon accounting, verification and Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reporting and the importance of life-cycle analysis (LCA).
We will discuss technical considerations, including drawing system boundaries, avoiding double-counting and managing compliance with regulatory mandates.
We’ll share real-world examples of how we’ve helped companies in sectors like aviation and materials production find clarity in this complex process.
What do you hope to achieve through the event?
This event provides an opportunity to connect with like-minded organisations and establish new platforms for collaboration and learning.
We want to raise awareness not only of EcoEngineers’ capabilities but also of the incredible technologies and trailblazers – our clients – with whom we’re fortunate to work.
By sharing real-world examples and insights, we hope to inspire action and help move the industry from ideas to implementation faster and more effectively.
We’re also thrilled to be nominated for the global Sustainability Consultancy award and look forward to the awards celebration taking place during the event.
What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of the sustainability industry over the next decade?
We’re seeing fundamental shifts in how companies are thinking about sustainability and how it shapes their brand and culture.
Companies are focusing on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change to mitigate risk, while meeting the growing demand for transparency, credibility and clarity.
Companies must back up sustainability claims with scientific rigour and data, then tell their stories in a way that resonates with investors, regulators and customers alike.
This is where EcoEngineers plays such a vital role: we support clients throughout their decarbonization journey, bringing credibility and transparency through trusted verification, clear impact metrics, quality data and compelling narratives.
Looking ahead, I believe the brands that succeed will be those that build sustainability and resiliency into their culture and demonstrate progress on climate change across the entire value chain.
