DP World: Sustainability, Net Zero and Climate Change Action

DP World, a global leader in smart logistics, has been named winner of the Editor’s Choice Award at the Global Sustainability Awards 2025, selected by judges Charlie King, Editor of Sustainability Magazine, and Steven Downes, Group Content Director.
The award recognises an organisation that exemplifies standout sustainability leadership, innovation and verified progress across complex value chains.
About DP World
DP World operates a worldwide network of ports, logistics hubs and marine services, integrating end-to-end supply chain solutions across continents.
Sustainability is embedded through its “Our World, Our Future” strategy, which guides climate action, responsible business practices and community impact across its operations and partnerships.
In 2024, the company became the first logistics operator in its region to have its climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Using a 2022 baseline, DP World aims to reduce Scope 1 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 by 28% by 2030, targeting net zero across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2050.
It reports a 15% emissions reduction since 2022 and now sources 65% of its electricity from renewable sources.
“We're very proud of receiving this,” says John Trenchard, Vice President Sustainable International Supply Chains at DP World Europe, upon receiving the Editor’s Choice Award.
“We were very excited to win the award and it was quite a surprise.
“I'm very proud of all the team who've been involved in putting a lot of effort into making this possible.”
