HH Global Works with more than 5,800 strategic supplier partners
HH Global sets a bold path to net zero by 2040 with a clear, accountable strategy focused on innovation, supply chain collaboration and climate leadership

HH Global, a tech-enabled, global marketing execution and procurement partner, has published a bold new strategy to transition to net zero emissions by 2040.

The company report underlines its commitment to climate action through measurable targets and sector-wide collaboration.

The plan sets out detailed actions across the company’s value chain and aligns with the latest UK and international climate frameworks, positioning HH Global as a sustainability leader in marketing and procurement services.

HH Global has been shortlisted for three categories at the Global Sustainability Awards 2025 held by Sustainability Magazine and Sustainability LIVE

A global responsibility

Operating in 64 countries with a network of more than 5,800 supplier partners, HH Global is the world’s leading provider of responsible marketing activation services.

The company’s net zero roadmap targets five key sources of emissions:

  • Energy
  • Travel
  • Strategic sourcing
  • Freight
  • Waste.

While HH Global’s operational emissions are relatively low, most of its carbon footprint lies in its supply chain, a reality it embraces as both a challenge and an opportunity.

“At HH Global, our success is built on delivering big impact for big ideas. Ideas do not come much bigger than achieving net zero,” says Kristian Elgey, CEO of HH Global.

“This plan, essential for keeping global warming within manageable limits and avoiding the most severe effects of climate change, is at the heart of our commitment.”

Climate science targets

HH Global’s net zero targets are guided by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), with the following goals:

  • 100% renewable electricity in operations by 2025

  • 50% reduction in emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2030

  • 90% reduction in value chain emissions by 2040

  • Neutralising the remaining 10% through high-quality carbon removals.

“The goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C is still within reach but achieving it demands bold, collaborative action,” says Kevin Dunckley, Chief Sustainability Officer at HH Global.

“At HH Global, our commitment to this goal began five years ago

“This plan sharpens our focus, enhances transparency and ensures we maintain momentum on this critical path.”

Transformation across the value chain

The plan outlines 15 concrete initiatives, three under each of the five emissions areas, classified as either “control” (directly managed by HH Global) or “influence” (dependent on collaboration with stakeholders).

Energy

While energy accounts for less than 1% of the company’s emissions, HH Global is targeting a full transition to renewable electricity and aims to reduce energy-related emissions by 2,956 tCO₂e by 2040.

Actions include purchasing renewable energy, reducing energy usage and advocating for low-carbon heating in leased office spaces.

Travel

With operations spanning the globe, business travel and commuting contributed 2,282 tCO₂e in the base year.

HH Global plans to cut air travel emissions by 67% by 2040, encourage the adoption of EVs and promote low-carbon commuting.

Combined, these initiatives aim to reduce travel-related emissions by more than 1,650 tCO₂e annually by 2040.

Strategic sourcing

The company’s largest emissions source, strategic sourcing, totalled 985,677 tCO₂e.

HH Global has three main strategies in place:

  • Reducing the volume of materials purchased

  • Supporting supplier partners in decarbonising

  • Advocating for low-carbon material use through design innovation and carbon transparency tools.

These initiatives aim to cut sourcing-related emissions by 729,535 tCO₂e by 2040.

Freight

Emissions from freight, at 39,602 tCO₂e, will be reduced through optimised logistics, a shift away from air freight and support for cleaner road transport solutions.

The company’s sustainable freight tools allow clients to make data-informed, lower-carbon shipping decisions.

Waste

HH Global is targeting a 67% reduction in packaging, reuse and landfill-related emissions.

Programmes promoting modular product designs, recycling more landfill and collaboration with sustainable suppliers are central to its strategy.

Waste reductions are projected to save more than 37,000 tCO₂e annually by 2040.

To complement its reduction targets, HH Global is investing in nature-based solutions aligned with SBTi guidelines.

This includes achieving a deforestation-free supply chain by 2030, supporting biodiversity, and offsetting residual emissions through verified carbon removals.

Governance and transparency

Accountability is embedded in the plan through robust governance structures.

The ESG + Risk Committee, supported by regional steering groups and task forces, oversees performance and adapts strategy as necessary.

Emissions data is tracked quarterly via Emitwise and externally verified by Bureau Veritas.

“Achieving net zero is not just about organisation intent; it’s about the collective effort of people. Reaching this goal will require the dedication, creativity and partnership of our colleagues, clients and strategic supplier partners,” explains Kristian.

“Together, we have already achieved so much.

“But we recognise that there is a lot more to do.”

In a sector historically focused on volume and delivery speed, HH Global’s strategy represents a systemic shift.

Its commitment to scenario analysis, collaborative impact and science-based targets offers a blueprint for other companies navigating the path to net zero.

“This plan reaffirms our position as a leader in sustainability, showing not just our ambitions for net zero, but the concrete steps we are taking to get there,” says Kevin.

“Our approach is built around the principles of ‘Ambition, Action and Accountability’.”
